Koufoudakis / Palaiologos Duo started in the winter of 2016, with the aim to unite the classical guitar and oud, the musical world of the West and the East. It is an equally important challenge for these two instruments, as they meet for the first time on stage presenting original chamber music works written and dedicated to it by composers such as: Stathis Giftakis, Yorgos Nousis, Kostas Eliades, Leonidas Kanaris, Christos Tsiamoulis, Socrates Mastrodimos, Nikos Paleologos, etc. Already in the eight years of its career the duo has performed in important cultural events such as the Volos International Guitar Festival, the International Guitar Festival of Paleo Faliro, the Kalamata Guitar Festival, the Houdetsi Festival (Crete), the Camino Contro Corrente XII Festival (Italy) and the Independent Global Art Festival. The duo has also taken part in significant concerts such as the Third Program of ERT, as part of the concert cycle "Tuesday and 3 in the Third", in Kalamata at a concert on "21st century works for guitar", but also in the tribute to the composer Y. Nousis with whom they had the honor and pleasure to collaborate at Polymelos recording studio. The result of this work is the recording of the work “Balada Oriental” by composer Y. Nousis which is included in his latest recording entitled: Guitaltruism.
