ABOUT THIS ALBUM

First CD project of the new series Guitar Portraits of Slovak Composers is dedicated to Dušan Martinček (1936–2006), an important Slovak composer, pianist and teacher, was one of themusicians whose activities were closely linked to the key personalities of the Slovak music fromhis youth. Among his selection of compositions for solo guitar and for guitar and flute at therecording are many works that have been recorded as world premieres. Performed by prominentSlovak artists Martin Krajčo, Miriam Rodriguez Brüllová, Ivica Gabrišová, Karol Samuelčík -this has resulted in a unique CD—the very first featuring Martinček's works for solo guitar.
